This Cookie Policy explains how SocialGear uses cookies when you use our fraud-awareness training service at socialgear.ing and dev.socialgear.ing.

Essential Cookies

SocialGear uses one cookie. It is named _social_gear_key. This is a signed session cookie that keeps you signed in while you use the service. It is strictly necessary for authentication to work.

The cookie is set when you sign in and is cleared when your session ends or you sign out. It is not encrypted, but it is cryptographically signed so the server can detect any tampering. It uses SameSite Lax to protect against cross-site request forgery. We do not use it to track you across websites or for any purpose other than keeping you signed in.

Analytics and Third-Party Cookies

SocialGear does not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party cookies. We do not use any tracking tools that set cookies. No data is shared with advertising networks or third-party platforms through cookies.

Why There Is No Cookie Banner

The only cookie we use is strictly necessary for the service to work. Under GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive, strictly necessary cookies do not require consent. Because we have no optional cookies, no consent banner is needed. You will not see a cookie banner on SocialGear because there is nothing optional to consent to.

Managing Cookies

You can block or delete cookies using your browser settings. Every major browser lets you view, block, and remove cookies. If you block the _social_gear_key session cookie, you will not be able to sign in to SocialGear. Training progress and your account will not be accessible without it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as SocialGear evolves. When we make changes, we will update the Last Updated date and version number at the top of this document.
